Education & Courses

B.Des. Industrial Design (Gold Medalist)at PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur, 2016-2020

I decided to pursue design because my aptitude is a balanced mix of creativity and analytical thinking, and chose IIITDMJ because of it's high national standing and wonderful pioneering design program. Here, I spent four years learning the fundamentals of different design domains, experimented with my approaches and choice of media, and chose to specialize in industrial design. Also did multiple high-responsibility extra curriculars, like being the Head of the music society.
Things I left with - B.Des. degree; final GPA of 8.6/10; a registered patent; gold medal in design & manufacturing; deep understanding and an undying love for design.

Moved towards design strategy because I am immensely fascinated by it. Traditional strategy is usually driven by the business and financial verticals, which often leaves the voice of the user unheard in vital business decisions. Designers can change that, and that is why I pursued this program. I chose TU Delft because of it's global impact and state of the art Industrial Design Engineering faculty.
Things I left with - M.Sc. degree; final GPA of 8.1/10; high quality international network; immeasurable exposure of global design practices and trends.

Being excited about product management and wanting to upskill in it, I explored product fundamentals in a course offered by the Amsterdam Product Club, a wonderful and exclusive product community consisting of top product talent in the NL. This was an 8 week professional course taught by product managers and leaders working in industry leading organizations (Booking.com, Picnic, KLM, VEED.IO, and more).
Things I left with - Nice certificate; holistic understanding of how product is pursued in different organizations; great community of product people; inspiration to build the best of the best.

Superpowers

Generalist at heart

Starting with industrial design and then moving to strategy, my portfolio is highly varied (from designing freezers, to working in B2B music, to insurance). I am a generalist working on the intersection of design, technology, and business, who enjoys adapting to new environments. I grasp concepts quick, and always consider my knowledge transferable.

Creator Mentality

I am, have been, and will always be, a creator. This is the reason why I went to design school, as building things gives me immense joy. I love working with my hands (customising guitars is my new hobby), have been a passionate musician, and love experimenting with new food recipes. This joy is what drives me to create great products as well, and why I will always keep building.

Lifelong Learner

I have done 6 years of design school and 5 full time internships (each > 4 months). I have built physical products, digital products, websites, have freelanced, been a consultant, and I can say one thing for sure: I love learning and growing myself as a professional. I move towards work that excites me and learn whatever is needed to get the job done.

Process

My process is always contextual and often focused on experiment-driven iteration.

I find running tests and low-resource experiments with users to be most beneficial to explore both the problem and solution space via rapid prototyping and no-code. The process picture above is from my master thesis.

I like keeping things Agile

Having often worked in digital projects, I have a good handle on agile methodologies and working in scrum teams. I have managed backlogs, led standup meetings, and generally enjoy the speed of this process.

Holistic toolkit

Throughout my journey I have accumulated a big set of tools to help me execute my work. The scope of these spans design & media, data analysis, project management, and more.

Things I like

I play music and occasionally do gigs solo and with my band. We play rock, funk, and anything to get people moving. ;)
I also like to make music content on Youtube, check it out!
